It takes about two hours by metro and bullet train to get to Huashan. I left at 8am and got back to my hotel at 6. I would recommend getting the north gondola and walking up to the west mountain to get the gondola down...More

Lucky that you have all day, make sure the guide or you start early as drive there from Xian takes a few hours. You have to go to visitor centre then take a bus to the cable cars. You cannot drive straight to cable cars... More

Just dress warm, hiking / snow boots if necessary and use the cable car.
