If you have a day to spend in Kashgar, I highly recommend a tour with Elvis. He will walk you through Old Town, stopping in tea houses and locals' homes and restaurants- places you definitely wouldn't be able to find or enter alone. There's a lot of flexibility and it feels like you are just hanging out, which worked perfectly... More

Ablimit (aka Elvis) was with us for 2 days, touring Kashgar town. He is a local Uyghur and so knows the local languages and the local customs. He took us to the places we wanted to see as well as the hidden gems in the old city. He worked with us to take us to the places we liked (traditional... More

Elvis took me and my friend on a walking tour of Old Town to see a tea house and the art street. We made our way through the backstreets picking up baked good to share in the tea room. Our visit to the art street was very nice. We also used Elvis's services to visit the Karakoram area. The scenery... More

I found Elvis via a slightly older (2014 edition) copy of Lonely Planet, where he comes highly recommended. The day spent with Elvis, who's Uighur name is Ablimit Ghopar, was different to the other tours because Elvis really shows you the real Kashgar of the locals, rather than the Kashgar of the tourists. My favourite part of the day was... More

Elvis was recommended to me by a friend who'd travelled here 2 years ago. He is knowledgable and an interesting character. He knows the Old town very well and will show you local restaurants and tea houses you may never find. He's reliable and even found me 2 students who wanted to practice their English. It was a great cultural... More

I called Elvis last minutes, but he manage to find a spot for me and we left for a 3 hours tour of the old Kasghar. The tour was really tailor made and, knowing that I'de like to meet the inhabitants and look at some antique Elvis brought me first in a old tea-house and to visit a family and... More

I go to Kashgar every year on business and each time I use Elvis to help me with the purchasing of carpets, rugs and musical instruments. It's really great to have his help because he knows so many of the local people and has been involved in working with tourists for more than 30 years. This last time I was... More

Elvis is not just a guide: he is a local taking you around, taking very good care of you he will take in the very nice corners of the city, and the best shops in town. In a city so particular such as Kashgar, he is a very helpfull friend. He organised a lunch in a Uigur family and also... More

Elvis is a wonder guide....he is like a good friend who took great care of me during the trip and even treated me for a lunch and gave me a historical drawing as a present. Elvis will bring you to the places that is unseen, unspoken in the website and yet it is interesting. I would highly recommend Elvis for... More

I like to take photographs. During a recent trip to Kashgar, I was fortunate to have Elvis as a guide. Despite my last-minute contact, Elvis was most accommodating and we set up an evening tour of old town. We visited art street, had a home visit with a holy man, drank tea at a local tea house, and toured much... More
