Skyrail is a great way to visit & explore some of the Atherton tablelands. It starts in Smithfield and ends at Kuranda which is a quaint little town that has markets and specialty shops for purchasing all sorts of souvenirs from didgeridoos to opals and pearls. The Kuranda pub is a welcome stop for some refreshments or a bite to... More

Beautiful views on the phenomenal ride. Stop offs on a rainforest walk and baron falls on the way up too which are recommended. Fantastic view of the falls on a short walk too. Nice village at the top to have a look around too.

Even on a hot day the small glass cabin was cool, This is a lovely way to experience the rainforest canopy. Even though we were only 2 guests we were allowed a 6 seat cable car to ourselves, without even asking. Brilliant, as I've discovered the extreme differences in the cultural mix in oz can sometimes cause conflict in close-quarters,... More

We visited with our young children and could highly recommend the visit to anyone visiting Cairns. We did the return trip on the skyrail due to time restrictions as the train didnt depart for sometime so if wanting to do the railway you need to allow plenty of time!! Certainly beautiful views and cam see so much more doing it... More

It is the longest cable car we have ever taken. Nice ride and you can hop off at 2 stations to have a little walk. My son likes itl.

My husband and I traveled on these on the way back home. Found them more enjoyable than the scenic railway. The views were awesome and it seemed a very quick ride. Nice people working at the stations.Would recommend this even if afraid of heights, as I was.

We were two families with 6 kids between 9 and 2. Cable cars can fit single prams but you will need to fold them up. Basically it's a trip over the forest with one stop you have to get off and rejoin the line to keep going. Kids enjoyed the view and how high up you are. You end up... More

This was a wonderful experience. Very calm atmosphere which fitted perfectly with soaring above the trees. Highly recommended. All passengers in the queue were allowed to have gondolas for just there group, so for us as a couple this made it more special. We followed on with the Kuranda Railway to complete the day.

You will be welcomed by friendly staff and be directed to the cabins. You would be amazed with the beauty of rainforest, river and waterfalls. You wil not want to leave Barron Waterfall the biggest and the most beautiful waterfall there. We went up by Skyrail and wend down by historic railroad to try both and we loved both. At... More

We went up on train and came down by skyrail! The train ride was nice and normal, a bit hot on a summer day without air con. The Skyrail was wonderful with the magnificent rainforest underneath. The ride was pretty long about 45mins. The two stops along the way provided us the opportunity of viewing Baron Falls from a different... More
