This incredible old wooden church is worth a visit when in Kon Tum. We were able to go inside and apparently listening to hymns sung in the Bahnar language is beautiful.

The wooden church is so beautifully designed and preserved. It was very quiet when we were there, which made this location a lovely spot for quiet reflection. I loved the combination of traditional catholic design, with local flavour - some ethnic minority decorations and both Vietnamese and ethnic minority language information and services.

We came here on the 24th December because we had heard that all the local tribes people would be there for a celebration of the mass. When we got there , there were several thousand people waiting outside waiting - the atmosphere was incredible. We went into the church itself which had been built by the French and which was... Whether one is Catholic or not this old wooden church is worth seeing. Given the destruction during the battle of KonTom glad it was not destroyed and has been maintained.

The Saturday mass was in tribal language, not Vietnamese because the attendance were the tribe people. The structure was great and made itself symbolic of Kontum. There was an orphange next to the church.

Just kidding. A splendid looking church. The structure definitely atands out among the local buildings. Thats all i can say. The walls of the church are now reinforced with cement. Visit the orphange behind the church. Walk around. No one will stop u.

There's not a lot of sites in Kon Tum and this church is nothing special either. It's a quiet and peaceful visit, don't think they get a lot of tourists visiting. Good for if you have nothing to do, but completely skip-able.

We walk to this church in the morning from our hotel - Indochine, 15minutes walk. The atmosphere in the morning is quite good, make you feel very calm. You can also have a good photo there.
