We had a great hiking trip to and around Yubeng. This remote Tibetan village and its surroundings have some of the most beautiful views, including the Meilei snow mountain, Glacier Lake and a sacred waterfall. The trip with our guide, Gonpo, gave us an opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the Tibetan culture and made it an unforgettable experience

Up, up and away to considerable high altitude, brings you to Yubeng, a peaceful village resides in a beautiful surrounding. Upper, and lower Yubeng are separated by the river. It's possible to get straight to Upper Yubeng, if you take the trail from Deqin, and although it's quite steep and a bit challenging hike, it does worth the effort. There... More

It will need sometime to get there but it's worth it. Also you will need luck with the weather. Another thing is if you are a foreigner here is the end for you because you are not allowed going on to Tibet so you have to go back the same way. Anyway this place is amazing you can stay a... More

Ten days of sun in mid Oct made the autumn tints, valley walks and snowy heights startlingly beautiful. Anorher bonus was the authorities are now only charging the Yubeng ticket (85y) and not the full attraction bundle. Development in Yubeng continues with more guest houses and wifi so it can't be long before the road arrives. Great place to visit.

Wasnt really a hike, more like a long walk on a beautiful path we took our time from Ninong to Yubeng, and it was amazingly beautiful ~ i think this was worth every other travel spot in Shangri La., (minus out tiger leaping gorge as we dint make it there) When we reach Yubeng, it was breathtaking The bigger picture... We were expecting Yubeng to be a really run down places with no access to clean water, good food, and horrible lodging. Boy were we wrong. We trekked from Xidang hot springs to Yubeng upper village (6 hours), and decided to stay at the BEST inn ever (forgot the name, but they are under the Youth Hostel Association) and the... More

Yubeng is a quiet, enchanting village but difficult to reach by foot. The hike is long and at times steep. It is possible to barter with a small shop owner. Just walk through the small town there are a few people selling drinks and candy, and a small selection of locally made beaded jewelry.

What an incredible place. Deqin itself was nothing to stick around for, but heading out early the next day through the hills was a wonderful walk. Making it to Yubeng was as good as everyone else has said. Highly recommend allowing yourself at least 4 or 5 days to do the hikes around the area, and a day for getting... More

We hiked in through the national park with all the other hikers and it was a nice hike but a tad crowded. Coming down into Yubeng was like stepping back to a simpler time. Troubles seemed to wash away as we took in the beauty around us. We stayed in Upper Yubeng and really enjoyed the views through the cracks... More

This place is so amazing. After my 5-hours walk from Ninong, I arrive the village. It greets me with yellow & red leaves in Autumn, plus the snow mountains at the top of view. I spent 3 days and a half here. It is so peaceful. From here you can walk up to many amazing attractions e.g. Glacial Lake. Tashi... More
