We kept a whole day program for Bhitar Kanika and every one should. We covered it from Panchalingeswar and reached there 9:30am. Took breakfast at Aranya Nibas, Chandbali and started our boat journey. At first, we felt a little bored but when we entered into it after registering ourselves at Forest check point and we simply thrilled. I never went... More

This 670 sq km national park is truly a storehouse of wild nature. The park contains two sanctuaries namely, Bhitarkanika and Gahirmatha. The park houses largest species of saltwater crocodiles, white crocodiles, Indian monitors, deers, birds etc. The park is crisscrossed by many rivers like Baitarani, Brahmani, Dhamra to name a few. We travelled from Chandbali, a small town in... More

Bhitarkanika offers decent staying option and one can explore the creeks with boats looking for beautiful birds and massive salt water crocs. Bagagahana walk is great to look for wildlife. Monitor lizards are amazing reptiles which can be seen in close quarters. Mangrove habitat changes all the time and its an experience which should nnot be missed.

One of the closely guarded secrets of Odisha, Bhitarkanika national park is an absolutely amazing experience. There are hundreds, probably thousands, of salt-water crocodiles in the park - we saw 85 in our trip. The forest abounds in classic mangrove vegetation - Sundari trees of Sundarbans fame, trees on stilt roots, and trees with breathing roots. There are Cheetal deer... More

the ride in the boat is excellent and the mangrove forests are a sight. Didnt sight too many crocodiles as we ended up on a cold and slightly wet day. The national park itself is in good condition

At Dangmal Jetty where the Bhitarkanika forest bungalow is there and the research center, museum, etc. a hoarding says "Thrill may kill you". We have hired a motor boat (launch) from Chandbali, Orisa and the way we entered the creek up to Dangmal is full of salt water crocodiles. The mammoth reptiles of length up to 20 feet and weighing...
