The Kanas Shuttle Bus first dropped us at the parking area and that’s where the climb starts. As you climb up the stairs, the view just gets better and better. There are numerous photography platforms along the steps for you to snap the amazing scenery, or benches and pavilions as well for the weary legs. The 360 degree view up... More

Be prepared for a good joke up the 1K over steps to reach the top , the view of the Kanas lake is always insight and gets better the higher you go . You get to see the whole area from the top of this Pavilion and legend has it that it was from this high pout that a giant... More

You need to walk up the hill before you can get the panoramic view of Kanas. Guanyu Pavilion is the right place. There are many steps to climb but worth the effort.

On clear days you can see the Friendship Peak at the border between China, Russia and Mongolia. Definitely one... More

The Fish Pavilion is perched atop a mountain within the Kanas National Park. Access within the park is controlled and an official coach will drive you about 30mins or so almost to the top. The rest of the way to the top will require some simple climbing along a well maintained footpath and steps, of which my guide says numbers... More

Guanyu Ting aka Fish Observatory (2,000m ASL, 48.72578, 86.99047) offers a panoramic view of Kanas Lake and the Youyifeng (Friendship peak), which is the approximate landmark of the tripoint border of Russia, China and Mongolia. Quite an easy walk up 1,111 steps to the top where you will enjoy colorful wildflowers (we were there in July 2011) and the emerald... More
