I went with a tour group and we went to Fuji Subaru Line 1 then up to Fuji Subaru Line 5 Station. It was a nice ride on the bus and great views. I will do it again.

They closed access to 5th st and could only get to the 4th where it was so owercrowded with buses and tourists it was like the worst experience you could have. Everyone queuing for selfies with the mountain and for icecream. Awful organisation of letting...More

Drive up to Mt Fuji Fifth Station. Watch out for cyclists though. Lots of buses and very low speed limit of 40 kph. Its closed to private vehicles in winter though. Nice views at 3rd and 4th station

Good to take the Subaru line to 5th station further up the mountain where you can get an appreciation for how big the mountain really is. Be aware of changing weather - best visited early in the day to have the chance of clear views.
