We have visited the place by the end of Oct but the maple trees were not yet fully changed colors. Nonetheless, the local people had organised various activities around the area to attract visitors. Overall the place was worth visiting and touring as restaurants and...More

If you visit Kawaguchiko in November, Momiji tunnel is the place for you. It is well-organized and well-maintained. All trees and leaves are colorful, very photogenic. At night, I think it even more beautiful since all trees are lighted up. Great to go both day...More

The momiji tunnel is obviously named for the rows of momiji which become a blaze of colour in autumn. The rest of the year it is still quite nice but isn't anything compared to autumn.

During autumn, there is a momiji festival that is held in the area. Plenty of people and food at the festival grounds. Not sure if it was the cold weather couple with piping hot food but the food was really good. Best potato croquette I've...More

We rented bikes from across the lake and rode over. There was also an autumn festival happening, so it was a lovely sight.

Just small creek with pathways and trees all around it. What makes it beautiful is the when the autumn season comes, all the trees went red and it's very beautiful! We were lucky to be there just on the last days of autumn illumination. Getting...More

Went on the last day of the momiji festival and unfortunately it was cloudy so couldn't see Mt Fuji. The bus driver said we would have enjoyed a lot more a week before as the leaves were almost done, but it was a nice relaxing...More

The Momiji tunnel is not a big place nor is it in itself full of wonderful things - it just provides a great view with perfect photo ops of Fuji-san. Take the bus to stop #22 and walk about 25 minutes. We took at lot...More

It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the furthest stop of the retro bus. Although it was a bit of a distance, it was a rather nice stroll and there were other momijis along the way too. The momiji tunnel was rows of...More

It was very beautiful with the autumn leaves and cool breeze. It was not so full of people so you can chill and spend time taking photo or just walking and admiring the scene

Hi there, I believe those are the same. It's quite a trek on the train. There was a group in front of us on the train that were only visiting Kawaguchiko for the day, and Mt. Fuji wasn't even visible that day. I would... More
