Interesting tour to see the Cook islands history food and way of life, slightly expensive. You can take the 5.5 hour tour which includes a model set of the polynesian huts and explains their way of life, highly recommended. Show is quite good, there is fire shows and typical islands style dancing with girls in cute polynesian dresses. Food is... More

Te Vara Nui is the best show of its type I have been to. The dancing and drumming were dramatic and creative. They are backed by a great narrative about the history of Rarotonga and some excellent compering. The characterful venue is purpose built creating a perfect setting for the show. Often the dinner is a the weakest part of... More

We started off tour with a nervous wait for the pick up. They were 25minutes later than arranged. The village tour was excellent. Being greeted with a shell necklace made a great gift for our daughters back in NZ. The speakers were informative, believable, true to their culture, and obviously enjoying their job. The evening show was simply stunning. The... More

The show was very professionally done, & afterwards the dancers came into the crowd & interacted with guests, mainly teaching the children how to dance. Food was good, nice variety with good opportunity to taste some of the local food. Dessert ran out too quickly though, & for kids the event finished a little late.

We thought the dinner and show was excellent. We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to Te Vara Nui in an open-air bus/truck thing with guests from other hotels. On arrival they explained the process & showed us to our table. We were at a table with four other guests, so it wasn't too crowded. We had a... More

It's quite a hefty price tag to then be seated with a number of strangers, all to ensure tables are fully occupied. It can work out well where you get to meet new people but at our table our view of the cultural show was a bit obscured. The buffet is good with a selection of western and local dishes... More

Loved the show, has a story and many very talented dancers, fantastic cultural attraction. The food was amazing - every single dish. This surprised me considering it is cooked in such bulk, makes me want to stay at the Pacific resort (where it is hosted) and we returned the next day to eat at the resort restaurant which was also... This was an excellent experience. It is pricey compared to other things on the island HOWEVER you get a lot for your money and I rate the experience as excellent value. It included pick up and drop off, a great meal (Im vegetarian and there was a good range), the educational side is fun and I didn't get bored at... More

You simply cannot visit Rarotonga without attending this spectacular feast of sight and appetite. We got picked up from our resort and the setting for the event was simply...wow! Easily the best attraction on the island! The buffet was delicious and the show was simply that...spectacular! The energy of the show will forever be etched in your book of phenomenal... More

There are two parts to this experience. The first part is a cultural introduction that tells the story of the people of the island, how they used the plants for medicine, how they got there, and the tool they used in their daily lives. This is roughly two hours. They move you to another part of the tour about every... More
