We visited here very spontaneously and were not disappointed! The waterfall is quite something but it's worth climbing the few steps for an even better view. We had seen pictures of the 7 coloured earths before visiting but it really is stunning when you see it in person. I had hoped for some background information that was sadly not provided.... More

We stumbled upon this by accident and thought let's give it a try as we are in the area. The colours of the earth are truly spectacular and shows that Mother Nature can come up with a few surprises. We only spent a couple of hours here as we where on the way to another venue. There is quite a... More

This is one of the destinations of Mauritius Africa. Its a large natural area of hills of sand naturally seven different colors surrounded by tropical trees and greenery. The bold pop of green colors that surround the sand is absolutely amazing. There is a small caffe and patio. They also have an area that has a few large turtles. A... More

This is a beautiful natural phenomenon to see, but I would go on a day when you know you will get sunshine as that is when it is at its best. We were lucky as it was a sunny day with some cloud, and you could see how it was less interesting when the cloud covered the sun.

We went there at closing hours and it was great! Only three more people, so very good to take shots. I find that place very spectacular and unique in its way. There is a fee of around 400rupies/person if I remember well. It includes also a view point to the waterfall. And a few big tortues

We came to see the 7 coloured earths as part of an excursion which included Chamarel waterfall and the Black River Gorge viewpoint. It was a an interesting place to visit but probably not as a sole destination. The colours of the earth can be seen quite distinctly I the right light conditions.

This is such an amazing natural experience that you have to really look! Don't just look through a camera , it's too special and unique. It is set out with seating areas, toilets, Snack bar and turtles lounging in the sun, although they don't really have anything else to do ! Early morning shows the earth colours at its best.... There is a nice viewing area above which many people (on foot) do not bother to climb. Colours also depend on direction of light and probably evening is better time.

It's probably best (and easier) to drive to the waterfalls and coloured earth landscape. Tickets are required for entry into the coloured earth landscape section - costing Rup £225/adult (waterfall is free). Impressive view of the twin waterfalls from the viewing platform. The coloured earth landscape section also has toilets, coffee/snack bar with seating, souvenir shop and tortoise area. Not... More
