(offseason review...I'll bet this place is crazy in the high season) Stopped by while out exploring. What a beautiful, little hidden gem of a place! Gorgeous beach to walk on, possible dinosaur footprints to search for (we maybe found a couple...but they could also have been random holes in rocks...my biologist wife wasn't totally sure). We will definitely look at... More

Beautiful, safe, great swimming, never too crowded, no seaweed and rarely any flies. Jsut occasionally, if there has been a storm out at sea, the waves can be daunting. But this is the Atlantic, after all, and the great waves crashing on the beach make a fine spectacle when the weather's not too great. Just perfect

Salema Beach is a wide, sandy beach, with plenty of space to play! Parking is limited, so get there early! If you can't find a spot in the village you can park up the hill and access the beach through the boardwalk on the west end of the beach.

Great beach in autumn or spring, when it's not crowded. Here you can start a hike to Burgau and than further to La Luz. Nice coastal walk!

Not overcrowded and great waves. Lovely walk and beautiful cliffs with great restaurants. Good location for other sites.

Super clean beach, lovely place to wander up and down, loungers available if you want, Boia Bar only a few steps away for a cooling beer. Not busy at all in October but July and August are apparently a different matter.

We visited at the end of September/beginning of October and basically had the beach to ourselves! This was especially true at low tide when you can walk to sections of the beach that are cut off at high tide--it was easy to take a quick stroll to an uncrowded end of the beach and park it for a while. The... More

Best is to drive to there via the coastal road from Lagos. Great view and at the end a scenic drive. Small cosy town with some nice restaurants, however pricing is higher then elsewhere.

I have had the pleasure of staying in Salema every year for 22 years and after visiting beaches in places such as Italy, Crete, Rhodes and Mexico - it is still one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited. In the middle of the summer the beach can be very busy but I have just come back from a... More
