I cannot say enough great things about this place. I meant to write my review a long time ago, but got busy with life. Outstanding tour! They take the time and actually explain everything about coffee beans to you and show you. Small family operation, but great down to earth people. After the tour and walk of the plantation, lunch... We took part in one of Gabriel's coffee presentations and a tour of part of his plantation which is a veritable garden of Eden with bio-diversity bursting out of a tightly packed plantation. He is well-informed and brings across global and regional aspects of coffee growing in an informative and entertaining manner. He not only gives you hot coffee to... More

We arrived at El Toledo about 45 minutes early, and had no idea what to expect. We booked a reservation on a total whim - it was our last day in Costa Rica and we were traveling from the beach back to the city. The farm was where we needed a break so we booked. It was highlight of our... More

See went on this tour when we were in Atenas. It was so informative. The owner Gabriel does an excellent job at explaining how he approaches keeping his coffee plantation healthy. His family is so kind & welcoming & Gabriel's father loves to share his knowledge. I would come back to do this tour again. It is a must.

I wanted an intimate coffee tour, and El Toledo delivered. They are a family run business, and you get the feel they really love what they do. They informed us about more than just coffee, it was quite enjoyable. Bring cash, they aren't set up for cards.

Very easy to find. Helpful staff. Unfortunately, berry season was over, so there was not much to see. We did experience tasting and the roastery. Personally, I felt that the presenter was a bit long-winded as far as overselling organic farming practices. I think we all got the point early on in the presentation, and on a hot day it... More

It was a wonderful hike through the fields. We also strongly recommend having lunch!! There are no words to describe how good it was!!!! Lastly our... More

I was able to book tour for my husband and I that was convenient to our trip schedule. We were pleased with Gabriel's presentation and knowledge of his family business. We would recommend this tour to our family and friends.

This was a very interested and educational tour. The tour is located just outside of Atenas which we had no trouble finding with the GPS app. It is located on a small, private farm. The first part of the tour consisted of a discussion about organic vs. non-organic coffee farming. He presented both sides very tactfully without bias. While he... More

Our tour and lunch at El Toledo was an amazing experience. Gabriel gave a very entertaining and educational tour, and explanation of organic farming, what's really behind it, the struggles farmers face, and more. A very eye opening experience that has changed us permanently, for the better. Highly recommended! You won't be disappointed.
