This was a very interested and educational tour. The tour is located just outside of Atenas which we had no trouble finding with the GPS app. It is located on a small, private farm. The first part of the tour consisted of a discussion about organic vs. non-organic coffee farming. He presented both sides very tactfully without bias. While he... More

Our tour and lunch at El Toledo was an amazing experience. Gabriel gave a very entertaining and educational tour, and explanation of organic farming, what's really behind it, the struggles farmers face, and more. A very eye opening experience that has changed us permanently, for the better. Highly recommended! You won't be disappointed.

After arriving in San Jose, we drove to the farm for a late day tour. Although we arrived early, everyone was very accommodating. We learned more about sustainable, "multicultural" farming and coffee in one hour than I think I could learn in a lifetime! The Gabriel and Yvette were very gracious and possessed an amazing amount of knowledge in what... More

This tour made me want to only buy from local farmers ever again. The tour is two hours with detailed explanation of how they came to be an organic coffee farm that also inadvertently produces so much other crop. Before touring there is a coffee tasting of their light, medium, and dark roast coffee as well. Fascinating, humbling, and most... More

Brian gave us a tour of their coffee farm. We learned a lot of history about the family farm and the process of growing coffee.

We took our 2 tweens on this tour and all enjoyed it immensely and learned a ton about coffee, farming, organic farming, and the big business that is organic certification. The blind coffee tasting was excellent as well.

This tour is HIGHLY recommended!!! Gabriel our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. I learned so much about organic/biodiverse farming and coffee roasting. This was the most incredible experience and I would do it again and again! We were able to have lunch with the family and talk afterwards. ¡La comida es muy rica! Don't skip this!!!

This not really touristy, but professional tour gives you an insight to the world of coffee from coffee farming till brewing techniques and also emphasis on organic farming in a very interesting and intelligent way. The owner family really wants you to understand how this industry works and why. Its much more of education with really just the possibility of... More

Gabriel gave us a very informative and insightful talk about the pro's and cons of organic farming world wide. We learned about bio-diversity and permaculture. Best of all we learned a whole lot about the coffee we drink every morning, and whether or not we are choosing the right variety. It was a bargain - great value for our dollar.... More
