Terrible experience!

We understand and appreciate that they’re trying to protect the nature and put a curb on the amount of people that can visit.

We purchased four of seven hundred tickets available per day.

When we went there we were stopped by an extremely arrogant and offensive parking guard who wouldn’t let us in even though the parking was completely empty!

We were trying to explain that we didn’t expect that when you purchase an entry ticket that there would be no parking spot reserved for you and that you wouldn’t be able to purchase a ticket on site. When we kindly asked if he could make a suggestion when we can park his showed us in a typical Italian arrogant gesture but he couldn’t care less.

People visit from abroad and bring to local community thousands and thousands of euros of income in times of Covid. And then you pay for a ticket and have to deal with someone like this! I am no longer going to patron Tuscany. There is an unlimited amount of other beautiful places to visit where are you feel welcomed and appreciated. SAD!

Great beach but overcrowded
Jul 2019 • Family
Sandy beach with clear water. But usually overcrowded in July and August. Long and not easy walk to get there.

Pretty spot
Sep 2018 • Couples
It is a nice spot, reached after a pleasant 20-25 minutes or so stroll through the woods. I was a bit surprised to see so many people on the beach in mid Sept to be honest. The water was lovely for a swim though,
I did find several other beaches in the area which I preferred and which had a more quiet relaxed vibe. For example, try parking up early at Marina di Alberese, and talk a stroll down the beach for space and peace. However Violina was nice for a few hours

Scenic beach... although not playing violin as the name suggests
Aug 2018 • Friends
Really nice beach, probably a bit too crowded because the short walk to arrive there is quite easy (even though I would not suggest it with babies and strollers!).
Here are a few suggestions to fully enjoy it:

- Arrive at the parking early in the morning (e.g. not later than 9AM in peak season)
- Keep comfortable sneakers with you for the walk
- But in your backpack a sunmbrella, beach towels and maybe a few clothespin if you plan to create a small tent on the beach
- The small van with food and beverages will be next to the beach roughly from 10AM till 6PM
- Bring plastic bag for you to pack all your trash and bring it back with you
- If possible, stay there till sunset and even later (the parking bar will raise automatically at the exit) to enjoy the best moment of the day... but in that case bring a torch with you to shine light on the way back.
- Bring mask and fins, and go to snorkel around the south part

ENJOY !

Great anchorage
Aug 2018 • Couples
This is a great anchorage both with sandy
And algae bottom. Protected from all winds except northerly winds. Close to the marinas of Punta Ala and Scarlino. Clear clean water. Depth around 7 meters

Best beach of Maremma
Aug 2018 • Family
This “secret” beach can be reached by a path in the wood of about 1,5 km with some ups and downs, parking opens at 8.00 but don’t get there late otherwise once full you won’t be able to access.
To be be avoided at weekend and in the afternoon if you want to really enjoy it.
The light in the early morning makes it spectacular, and there was not a single see weed in the water, in the afternoon the effect is not the same.
There is a van selling sandwiches and ice creams at a reasonable price (4-6 euro)
Can’t be missed if you are in the neighbourhood!

One day stay
Jul 2018 • Family
Nice place, full of people, with an easy/non-easy way to get. When You walk with baby carriage it's not so easy and fast to get (but for sure more easy to get then Cala Civette...)
It's worth to stay whole day on this white sand beach (don't forget to take food, drinks, and and some sun protect.

Nice beach
Jul 2018 • Family
Best beach along this stretch of coastline but a bit of a walk. Nice and quiet sandy beach and clear water. We parked in the free car park up the road and walked through the woods along the trail to the beach. Think it was about 2km. Lovely walk but a bit hot. On the way back we walked around the headland and then back along the road which was easier and quicker but not so picturesque. I can imagine on a calm day the beach would be even nicer.

nice place, clear water, might be crowded in summer
Jun 2018 • Couples
this is one of the hidden gems. it's really nice place, clear water, beautiful nature (yes please, take the rubbish with you when you leave), you need to pay just for parking. it's empty during the week, but I guess it's going to be more crowded in summer.
