If your looking to see wild life this is the trip to take. All the animals and reptiles you see are in their own habitat doing what they normally do. The sounds of the monkeys barking was a thrill of its own. The guides are very knowledgeable and speak clear English. The boat trip is about 2 hours long and... More

I think we saw more birds on this trip than any other, it was very enjoyable. Not only birds, there were cayman, terrapins and monkeys. There is no gift shop, you just get on the boat and go in one direction, then turn round and head off for the Nicaragua border. Fascinating. Take binoculars and a camera. If you are... More

Our boat captain knew every inch of the canyon and exactly where to take us to maximize our time there. He clearly loves all aspects of creation that surrounded us as we traversed seeing howler, spider and Capuchin monkeys, so many birds including the Great PoToo, Cayman, and more! What a joy!!!

We had a wonderful time on our boat tour up and down the river. We had a very good driver who has magic eyes, because he was able to spot loads of wildlife for us too see! Even a couple of sloths that we had to use binoculars to spot! We seen lots of birds, different species of monkeys, caimans... More

This tour was one of the best activities we did during our Costa Rica vacation. We had many wonderful tour guides and drivers on our vacation, but Jorge (guide) and Armando (if I spell that right, the driver) were the best. The tour was incredible. We saw a lot of animals. And our guide was so knowledgeable of not just... More

After the hurricane there had been unusual amounts of rain for the time of year and it rained a lot of the time we were. It was more or less an extended wet season and apparently predicted to continue. This made some of our outdoor activities less fun than otherwise but we still enjoyed our time. Although it was the... The boat tour through Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. We saw an amazing number of birds, three species of monkeys, turtles and iguanas. A must-see for every visitor!

We took the Caño Negro boat trip through Aventuras Arenal and it was great! It was a relaxing float down the Rio Frio with our guide pointing out sloths, anhingas, cormorants, basilisks, iguanas, howler monkeys and spider monkeys! Very scenic and beautiful.

We travelled from The Springs with Canon Adventures. It's a bit of work to get there, but ultimately it was worth it for the animal sightings. This is a VERY relaxed trip. No hiking or exertion. You sit on a comfortable boat and tool up and down a river with guides. The guides were amazing, knowledgeable, and the captain was... More
