What a privilege and pleasure it is to walk in this pristine Queensland wilderness. The Great Walk takes 3 full days and needs lots of careful planning. You could do it in 4 separate walks. A group of 3 or 4 is recommended as accidents...More

Walking with a small group organised by International Park Tours Beechmont. Just really bad luck as it poured rain and we were all covered in leech bites. Have done this walk before in perfect conditions. Win some, lose some!

We started the Border Track from O'Reillys around 10.30am and arrived at Binna Burrra just after 5pm. The hike is approx. 22km long and you do need to be prepared and take plenty of water and food. We also took our own tents, inflatable mattress...More

I set myself a few goals this year (being a BIG year) and one of them was the Border Walk from Binna Burra to O'Reillys. O'Reillys Guest House has a scheduled Saturday link between the two resorts. The drive back down the mountain, through the...More

this walk is a great way to spend an hour as part of a day's outing to lamington national park as it incorporates a section through the treetops and a good look at the park features.

Highly recommend coming here while in Brisbane. The ride up is steep and windy. If you are from the U.S. I caution against driving. The roads are extremely narrow and you are driving on the wrong side. Margin for error is very small. You are...More

This is a vast area: if you are planning to spend a day there only, I would suggest a tour run by private operators from the Gold Coast. There is no public transport to any of these National Parks. O'Reilly's is very... More

Hi Sandy, I think O'Reilly's is a lovely place to take children of that age. You will need a car or you can go with a paid tour that travels from the Gold Coast. Just google O'Reilly's bus tours for options. Staying... More
