Get the forest’s different perspective, take a close look from above! You can be eye to eye with the birds and animals of the rainforest while sitting comfortably in the seat of our Swiss-engineered aerial tram system. Gliding smoothly through the tree tops, you will experience firsthand the sounds and peace of the deep tropical rainforest. One of the Gamboa’s tour guides will accompany you to describe the flora and fauna that you will see. The 1.2-kilometer ride culminates at a hill top where you have the opportunity to visit the Observation Tower. After walking up the spiral ramp, you will discover a panoramic view of the Chagres River, Panama Canal, Embera Indigenous Village, and the Town of Gamboa. All surrounded by lush mountainous rainforest. Recommendations: comfortable clothes, binoculars, water. Departure times: from Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays for maintenance

We did this tram as part of our tour to Lake Gatun. The tram ride was pretty nice and the climb to the top of the tower was worth it. Do not do this if you are afraid of heights. Skip the butterflies, frogs and orchids that are typically part of this tour if you can.

Very nice views and great guides. You have to be able to also walk up 9 flights of steps which they don't tell you about. Bring bug spray

We went to Panama for our honeymoon. This was one of the excursions we went on. It was a lot of fun and with gorgeous views!

The Aerial Tram was the highligh of my trip to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Overall, I was really disappointed with the property. The tram made up for my disappointment. The trip was educational, our guide showed us so many things in the treetops- the trumpt trees, that the sloths love. I didn't realize that the trumpt trees have a mild... More

This is an excellent experience with beautiful view of the canopy. This area is full of everything a nature lover would wish for. The tour takes to high observation tower which provides nice view of canal and the rainforest. Enjoyed small walking trail leading to the observation tower. The guide was bit boring and seemed to be not enjoying his... More

The Gamboa Resort has so many activities for visitors whether your stay at the resort or for those that only want to do the activities. We didn't stay at the resort. We did one of the boat rides that takes you to some small islands that have the small monkeys and that was sooooo much fun, especially for my son!... More

Great way to see the rain forest! Natalia( our guide) was awesome, very knowledgeable! Although we did not see much in the way of animals it was very enjoyable. Natalia knows a lot of the history of the canal and shared some great info with our group!

The excursion to the tramway was a worthwhile method to experience a rainforest. Though we were the at the end of the dry season, there was still wildlife around, just not the lush tropical foliage one might expect. All trips are guided, and we had an excellent guide, Vladimir, who spoke excellent English and had a great sense of humor.... More

1 guide per 4 people leads to an intimate experience. We spotted a sloth, toucan and Panama's version of our racoon. Plant species were pointed out to us . The views were amazing!!!
