The 2 young men (camera and snake handler) were enthusiastic, polite and helpful.
The story of the temple and it’s snakes was intriguing. The snakes on the picture frames did not look real/live. I think the only live snakes were in enclosed containers - this was probably deliberate for, obvious, safety reasons.
The gentleman who operated the convenience store at the entrance to the temple was very helpful. Positive experience, overall, just disappointed that I did not see live snakes everywhere.

Limited snakes. They blocked and gated the tree. Nothing much to see actually. You can finish seeing the whole place in less than 30 min.

At first glance, it may look like all the other temples in town, but if you go in a little more (pass the photo opportunity area) you'll find the snake breeding ground/garden. You'd be forgiven to think it's just a garden with trees for decoration purposes, but bear in mind there are snakes lurking within the tree branches. Spent a good 30 minutes looking around and finding snakes to snap photos of - and they were worth it!

This was my first destination after taking my breakfast. The building is classical. You can see the snake in the temple but you are not allowed to touch them without any permission. If I am not mistaken, they provide the photography service with the snakes. There are some souvenirs store outside the temple to let tourist buy some souvenirs.

A good way to see some of the local sites, as this island is not very big a few short trips will give you a feeling for the place
Penang hill also known as flag staff hill is worth a visit when on a clear day you have good views all around
The snake temple is interesting though may not be everyone's choice
The other temple on the hill is worth a visit also for the views, but you need to be reasonable mobile due to the location
Getting around on the roads is an experience as like a lot of far eastern locations there is large amount of traffic on the roads so getting around can be slow
The nice thing for the British, Australian and New Zealand travellers is that the driving is on the same side of the road as at home

Quick visit (10 min) to this small temple with live vipers. Nice pictures to do in the room with the vipers. Avoid the commercial picture with pythons.... It can be done on the way to the airport.

Came here because I heard so much about a temple filled with snakes. To get here requires a 15 minute bus ride from the main tourist area of George Town. The bus virtually stops outside the temple, or you can just ask the bus driver to let you know when to get off. The temple is not that big and there are certainly snakes there, 10s of them in the temple. There’s something very odd about poisonous snakes that are so docile.

Only seven minutes drive away from the airport, I would recommend this pitstop if you all have time.

There is a lot of tacky tourist rubbish around the entrance. The temple is tiny and nondescript. Through a room to the right you can get a photo with a python and a viper. At RM40 its relatively expensive, but RM8 gets you into the snake farm, which is interesting. Mr Chew is knowledgable and engaging. It was a lot of fun. It's probably not worth a trip on its own but if you are nearby it's worth checking out

We came on 2nd Lunar New Year day. There’s hardly anything worth our time. Shops and beggars with some pythons in the cage and some small snakes seem sleeping/dead.
