Some very impressive forest trees, especially the Javan Figs, Palm and Cook's Pine Avenues and bamboos. Fruit bats in some of the trees. Would require at least a 4 hour visit to do it justice.

Beautiful gardens, massive place to wander around. It can get really really hot, we were here lunchtime which wasn't ideal. Toilets near the entrance. There's also cafe inside. I'm afraid there's no aircon greenhoue anywhere that I know of.

Really enjoyed visiting these gardens, lovely bit of piece from manic Kandy! University students-bring your uni card and you get entry for 1000rps instead of 1500.

We greatly enjoyed a couple of quiet hours away from the hectic traffic of the congested Kandy roads. The collection of local and exotic plants is well laid out in extensive gardens. We loved the blaze of colour and amazing diversity of the orchid collection...More

This is no Kew Gardens but to be fair it is a lovely area with some fascinating species, great mature plantings and some beautiful areas to simply sit and relax. We are not plant lovers but a few hours wondering through here was well spent.

We waited to get Kandy but did not like the mood of the city, so it was a good idea to went there. It was a bit of peace, calmness, beauty. The palms walkways was the best.

You could spend a day here if you like plants and flowers. Otherwise a half day is nice to get a good look around. The Golf cart is good to hire for an hour as you get to see the whole area.

Hi Everyone, is there extra cost for the buggies or carts that ply inside? How many people can they sit at a time? Do they have any fixed timing or available all the time?

Yes. There is a charge and for us the time limit was one hour. We had the large cart...I think 7-8 people could fit in nicely. Heard there are smaller carts too.
