Had a good visit though a shame it was so cold and damp, well presented and detailed audio guide. Enjoyed seeing the Roman Townhouse as I remember watching the TV programme about the building of it. Visitors center good but only a coffee machine and outside seating, not good on a cold wet day. Worth a few hours in warmer... More

Having a keen interest in history, my wife and I planned a visit to Wroxeter Roman City and Wenlock Priory as part of a midweek getaway. Probably should have done our homework but very disappointed to discover that at this time of year the site is only open at weekends. Especially since Wroxeter is the site of one of this... More

Cycled over to this Roman site and I was most impressed. The site is tiny in comparison with what still lies beneath the earth here but spending 3 hours even on a winter's day was no problem. There is much to learn and the audio tour was very well done. Rob and his co-worker were very friendly and helpful in... More

This is a small museum and due to the outside nature best visited on a warm day otherwise wrap up well. If you like Romans you will enjoy a walk around the ruins of the bath house and a central part of the city. Make sure you take the audio guide as it brings the site to life and I... More

We arranged to visit here as we homeschool our daughter. We managed to arrange to book up for more than two weeks in advance (rediculous when you have no idea of the weather), and looked forward to our visit. The following week we received an email informing us our date was cancelled. We had already paid for accommodation locally, and... More

.My grandchildren loved Wroxeter. Its so easy to motivate them, marching around in the very steps of Roman soldiers. Use the audio guide, they'll enjoy the detail.

I visited Wroxeter's Roman city on the recommendation of a friend. The site consists of the core of a former Roman city, which was the fourth largest in Roman Britain at the time. I recommend using the audio tour guide, which describes how various parts of the city would have looked from different parts of the grounds. Be sure to... More

The self-guided tour of the grounds is very pleasant and easy to follow - each plaque gives a bit of detail, then directs one to the next plaque, and so on. The reconstructed Roman house is also very insightful - one gets a better sens of what life must have been like back then. Lastly the staff were very friendly,... More

Though not Rome or Pompeii it is a very interesting place to visit and there is a taped guide you can take around with you explaining all the remains especially the Baths. visit should take around...
