Description:

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year.

Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

We stopped here on our return to the south from north Wales. We started with lunch from the canteen. All lovely - good choice. Entered and started at the RAF museum. It was small but the volunteers new a huge amount and one lady took the time to talk to my 6 old about a famous spitfire pilot. He was... More

Lovely house that's seen many changes. I can remember the Hari Krishna who lived here for a while on the streets of Worcester in their orange robes! Extensive grounds to explore and a RAF exhibition showing how Defford was during the war.

To explore a new location on a beautiful day has created a lasting impression. Croome was stunning. The landscape was beautiful and well looked after. There was plenty to see and a clear map provided to guide you around without missing a thing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the history of the place was incredible. I just wish... More

Magnificent gardens designed by Capability Brown, top notch playground, a perfect slice of England's green and pleasant land. Welcoming staff of volunteers made our day perfect; we joined the National Trust on the spot off the back of our experience. Firmly recommended

We visit the same time every year, it's our annual tradition, the grounds are beautiful and ideal for long walks and picnics. This year the egg hunt is too organised and confined to a smaller area, meaning everyone and the children were all squashed together. You couldn't stop without someone else's family gathering around you thinking you had found another... More

We visited Croome on an overcast Good Friday. The car park was packed and we were concerned it would be too busy there. No need to worry! Once we were in and past the main cafe the crowds disappeared and we walked around the stunning grounds undisturbed by others. The view of the Malverns from the top of the hill... More

We had a day at Croome Court. We went a few years ago & it was sad how the house had been let go of, we still loved it though. The estate is so beautiful & the views are lovely. The house has been through lots of change but now under the national trust - thank god ! The volunteers... More

With plenty of stunning views let alone the church and Croome Court itself, I thoroughly enjoyed today an hours walk around the grounds with dogs. There are plenty of walking routes surrounding to allow you to soak up the beautiful views around you. Next visit will be definitely going into Croome Court but thank you for allowing us to enjoy... Interesting visit and good to see how it has changed over the last 20 years, but the house feels messy in terms of the way it is organised and displayed. This means that it never really feels like it is communicating the stories the National Trust is so keen to tell at this property.
