Great walking tracks to suit everyone. A little more maintenance for the furthest walking tracks could be recommended.

Wonderful three days spent exploring. Loved all the walks. Some were challenging however the paths are well maintained and I really enjoyed all the creek crossings. The wildlife: fabulous. Moss garden 7km return, Art Gallery 10.8km return, Wards Canyon 9.2km return and Boolimbah Bluff 6.4km...More

It's kind of a long drive but it's sealed roads all the way. Check your fuel gauge before you leave, it's a long way! Anyway, walking trails are all safe and well maintained. We only got to do the moss gardens and amphitheatre but well...More

Beautiful. To hear nothing but the sound of nature, running water, cicadas, birds, rustling leaves or the odd roo passing by. The tracks are well maintained and the locals will talk you through the walks. Photos and words will never be able to convey the...More

Great walks but don't go in December. Also once you get past the art gallery the signage is awful and you waste valuable time at creek crossings looking for the path to continue.

Stayed at Takarakka Bush Resort & Caravan Park, absolutely fantastic. Only a short drive to Carnarvon Gorge. We had an unpowered site that was quite generous. The camp kitchen and toilets were great, very clean and fresh. Firewood provided daily for the open fire pit....More

A wonderous place, good for the soul. Plan to stay about a week to full enjoy it all at a reasonable pace. Every walk is a highlight, especially the art at Cathedral Cave. The moss garden is hard to leave.

Unlike some national park experiences, the ability to experience the environment is not limited to the super fit. There is even a short walk here that is wheelchair accessible which is not often found. If you are an avid and experienced hiker there are still...More

We did a couple of the walks, the area is beautiful and the walks well marked. If you are really energetic the longer walks have the best scenery

Carnarvon Gorge is an ancient place of amazing beauty. The walking tracks are well maintained and well marked. The creek crossings are safe with well placed stepping stones. Take your time to stop frequently and look up and across at the wonders of the Gorge....More

We had a week but as a minimum if you want to do all the walks I'd say no less than 5 days. It would very very hot to do any walking at this time of year, it's also off season.

Sorry, we stayed in an onsite safari style van. You will have to go to their website as all my material on Carnarvon is at home and I am across the other side of the world. Sorry I can't help.

just FYI...if it's wet, the upgraded roads before Takarakka become a deep rich clay. We saw one traveler (motorbike) attempt the road and have to turn back - however we found the pass ok (4x4). not sure if the bitumen has... More
