I've been there with a bunch of friends during our trip of Central Italy. It's very close to the Marmore waterfall and is very quiet and calm. The weather was pretty hot but under the trees in the path around the lake, we managed to relax and enjoy the sunny day.

This small but charming lake boasts beautiful surroundings and several small villages not far from it. We especially enjoyed the eating places .. right on the edge of the lake waters and the local salmon trout.

Small mountain lake, water a bit colder than other nearby lakes. Nice walk on a short prom. A few cafes to chill during the day. 13th century church. Restaurants are open after 7.30pm as usual. Boat rides on the lake.

We visited the town of Piediluco after visiting Marmore Falls. The town is spread along the banks of the lake and there are small parking areas along the one way street through the town. We finally found a space at the far end of the town and made our way to a cafe set on the waterfront with lovely views across this picturesque lake. Took a 30-40 minute boat trip for €5 each which was very scenic and pleasant.…

The little village of Piediluco lies on the banks of this stunning lake, which is clearly used for rowing regattas. We wondered how the rowers can concentrate on keeping in their respective lanes when they have have such an incredible vista in front of them. The surrounding mountains were snow-capped and the backdrop behind the blue waters of the lake was very picturesque. We have been told that this is the coldest May that Italy has experienced in 60 years and we can definitely believe it. Well worth the visit! We stopped here on our way from visiting the Cascata delle Marmore and travelling to Arrone.…
