we had hoped to see a large cave or rather series of caves after the steep climb, but were disappointed as it is only 1 small cave with carvings. nothing much to see around but the view from the top is quite good.

Steep climb uphill. Not recommended for senior citizens or people with ailments. You need to be fit to climb the steep steps. Nevertheless, it's worth the climb.

Edakkal Caves are.......interesting, for lack of a better word. There's a LONG climb to get there, including at least 20+ minutes of steep climb and another 10-15 minutes of stairs. You get a good view of the valley from up, but the Caves themselves are...More

It is a bit of a hike so try to go when it is not too hot and also try to go early in the morning because as the sun comes up you will find it more difficult to climb.
