A nice introduction to this region of Quebec. Those familiar with other similar areas (Ontario's cottage country for instance) might find it a bit repetitive, but it is a magnificent park with lots of fascinating places to visits and trails to walk. It might not be one of Canada's best national parks, but then again there is lots of competition... More

It is beatifull, at least in the summer. You can do the 67 km with the car and stop in the best sightseen. There are not long walks and take you to marvellous view from the lake. You can walk and kajack. I was kind of stress for the constant warning for bears. Indid not see any!!! I have walked... More

We loved the park on our first visit that we decided to stay over in one of O-Tents that are provided by Park Canada and explore more of it. It is a great experience with all the bare necessities provided that it feels like a luxurious way of living within nature. Most of the Tents have a minimum of 2... More

Having been to many national and provincial parks in Canada this is easily one of my favourites. Many hiking trails to choose from and they cater to all ages and abilities. We stayed in an O-Tentik which made this stop on our road trip completely stress free. It came equipped with everything we needed for our three night stay. The... More

We walked on the Mekinac trail and the trail connecting Lac Étienne and Lac Édouard. Both were pleasant and were flat, suitable for people not wanting uneven surfaces or elevation changes. Pleasantly, though it was Labor Day weekend, the park was busy, but not so swamped it detracted from our experience.

We booked a campsite at La Mauricie for two nights (to break up a road trip from Ontario to Nova Scotia). It was about an hour and a half out of our way, but we were okay with this as we'd planned on exploring the park and hiking several of the trails. The park looked absolutely beautiful. It was me,... We came to The national park as our first stop on a relaxing road trip from Toronto through Quebec. The park ended up being the highlight of our trip. The landscape is beautiful and well kept, the air fresh and aromatic and the sounds peaceful and serene. Definitely worth renting a canoe to experience the lake- canoe over to the... More

We spent a day in the Mauricie parc and decided to rent two canoes at Wapizagonke. You canoe for about an hour, "park" the boat at a beach and hike another hour up the hill to beautiful Waber falls. Bring your beach shoes and your bathing suits to fully enjoy the falls. Another hour hike back to the boat, and... More

Lovets of nature will simply keep stick to visiting this beautiful park. Either doing the canoe camping or normal camping the views at the day and night are simply amazing... The cons are the service... The recptionist was more interested to rid of us instead of providing information of the park... And the guys in the boat rent were to... More
