We are long time naturists on vacation in spain and were driving along the Mediterranean coast. We wanted to spend a day at playa Monsul and Barronal. The morning we got to Monsul. The beach were Indiana Jones had filmed. But found the beach to be textile that day so we did a little bit of beach bouldering then headed up and over the beach bluffs to Playa del Barronal. As we climbed up the bluff, we took off our suits and hiked the rest of the way nude to Barronal. The beach was fairly empty. There were a few other naturist couples there and the beach itself was wide with soft sand and beautiful. The sand extended far into the ocean and was very shallow. The water was extremely clear. We spent the day playing in the water and on the beach. As the day progressed, more and more people arrived at the beach. Most were nudists as well and the ones that werent did not seem to mind. We had parked on the Monsul parking lot so at the end of the day we decided to walk around the bluff along the shallow beach to Monsul beach. We had spent all day nude and completely forgot that Monsul was heavily textile that day. Needless to say people got an eye full. But we had already packed all our clothes in the beach bags so we just walked nude to the car. It was really a good day. There are no facilities at Barronal, There are basic rest rooms at Monsul though at the parking lot. Porta potties basic. We highly recommend going to Playa Barronal if you are looking for a beautiful naturist beach when in Cabo De Gata.

We drove the unpaved road from San Jose the 3k to the parking area beside the seasonal bus stop. From there head toward the small building and beyond to a Nature Reserve sign with Playa Nudista scrawled over it. It is about 500 metres from parking to the beach. The beach is predominantly naturists and is in a lovely sheltered bay with good swimming and snorkeling. It is possible to swim or to clamber over rocks to two bays immediately south of Barronal.
