If you are visiting Kamala then you will probably see this while going over the bridge to the beach. Its in the park and its a reminder to us all of the terrible Boxing Day travesty in 2004. Some many people there lost their life...More

The Tsunami event 26 December 2004 sent shock waves right around the world. It was with disbelief that we, in other parts of the world, watched news articles relaying the catastrophe to Thailand and the very sad loss of life. Banda Aceh was hit the...More

We went on a walkabout on our first day and was surprised to come across this memorial during our walk. The area is quite close to our hotel, the Kamala Sunprime. However, I felt that it was not prominent enough, seemed to be on wasteland...More

This was on our must see list as a memorial to the tsunami victims. Sadly it is unkept and needs to be cleaned up out of respect to the families.

Great sculpture, just sad about how plain and boring it is around the area. Could do with an clean lup and maybe a guide something to snake it a little more special. Sculpture is very well done with beautiful meaning words on plague.

The sculpture was great but the area it was in needed to be cleaned up. It seems the city needs to step up trash collection in the city overall.

This is a small and poorly maintained memorial to the Tsunami victims. There's not really much to see and the area is dirty and generally pretty horrible. You'll probably pass it on the way to the beach but it's definitely not worth going out of...More

This is just a sculpture in the midst of a trash heap. My family walked right by the memorial without even realizing something was there because of all the trash and the smells made it hard to get them back. If your on the Kamala...More
