A sign was posted at the XinBeitou Station stating that the Beitou Hot Springs Museum is closed for renovations from from Sep04, 2017 to Oct26, 2018. From the outside, it looks like major reno. We'll have to come back after Oct 2018 for a visit.

I wonder if this real or man made hot spring. It is really too crowded and concern if it is hygienic.

The museum is not large, but it is free, easy to reach and gives you a good basic background into Beitou's modern history. The lower floor showcases the baths as they would have been in the Japanese era and includes information about how the building...More

The museum depicts the history of Beitou and its hot springs and how it details back to the Japanese occupation in Taiwan. We also saw the original hot spring bath which is located in the museum.
