We took a ferry here from Gushan Ferry Pier. Spent half a day in the afternoon here, exploring the island. This is just a small island. From the ferry pier to the beach, there were many small stalls and restaurants offering a variety of food, especially seafood. We tried many types of food and drinks. Weather was hot and sunny. Although the island was narrow and not very big, we still couldn't cover the whole island as it require quite a lot of walking.

I didn’t expect anything from this island but, I really enjoyed. Island itself was very beautiful! There are many photo spots so people can enjoy. I recommend to rent en electronic bicycle to see around.

We spent a couple of hours here on a nice summer day. The Cijin Beach was beautiful with many fun sand sculptures. The old street was colorful and the seafood we had in a restaurant there was great. I especially enjoyed looking out the Kaohsiung Harbor near the ferry station watching the cargo ships sailing into the harbor one after another. Absolutely marvelous!

We took a leisure stroll along the Main Street. There are seafood restaurants, stalls selling bubble tea, hand made nougat, fried food and all. My parents rode the trishaw and made one round tour of the place. A different kind of experience.

We enjoyed cycling around the island, exploring the different places.
8 of us rented 8 bikes from this shop further into the island , just diagonally opposite the temple. 80 twd per bike for whole day only.

There were many nice scenic spots to take photographs , should take about 3 hours.
Do take note that the lighthouse is closed for maintenance. We climbed all the way up ( as it is not accessible by bike) to only find it closed. We felt they should have place a notice up at the bottom of the flight of stairs to inform visitors as there were some elderlies that climbed up slowly too. Luckily ,the view at the structures near the top was awesome too.

Our family took a ferry to Cijin Island in the morning, rented an electric bike (that can sit 4 persons; cost ¬TWD 200/hr and TWD100 per hour thereafter) and followed the recommended cycling track to see Cihou Fort and Lighthouse, tunnel and along the beach to various scenic photo-taking spots. Very leisurely and relaxing. Had lunch at one of the seafood places then left in early afternoon. Overall a very enjoyable day out for both the elderly and young in the family.

So glad we did this. The ferry across was so cheap. We hired an electric bike for two hours and explored. Lovely beach. After we took the bike back we had a late lunch of fish scallops and oysters. Then headed back on the ferry. Lovely to effortlessly ride around the bike tracks and on the roads with the wind in our hair.

We had the afternoon on the island. Had a motorised bike ride so we could cover more ground. Not a lot to really do here but well worth an afternoon or morning. Had lunch at the Sunset Pub which was nice. It was extremely hazy the day we were there so the view from the lighthouse was not great and reduced the overall atmosphere of the place. The beach was clean and water seemed clean enough to swim in. As an Australian I am always disappointed with beaches in Asia, the black sand is fine and soft and a novelty. Water was warm but no waves, so great for little children.
