Once billed as a Crusader Fort, the latest evidence says that this awesome set of ruins was built by the Muslims in the early 1200s, according to the signage at the site. So more of an "anti-crusader" fort. In any case, it's a great set...More

If you are in the Golan you should not miss this place. Fantastic views from the fortress. The tour is self guided and there are numerous rooms to explore.

The view alone is worth the trip, especially at sunset. But the Lantern Tour of this huge complex makes this one of the best ruins I have explored..
