We went to visit Kiyomizu Temple during the heat wave. The walk was long, but it was very interesting with lots of restaurants, food and drink venders and souvenir shops along the way. Kiyomuzu temple is under renovation currently and you can only see about...More

You must visit the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. It was one of my favorites and the setting is gorgeous! We walked from the temple to the little red pagoda. Many picture opportunities.

Many places in Kyoto was better 10 years ago. This is one of them. It's simply too crowded and not interesting any more. A real shame.

Still lovely to visit the site but most of the temple was covered as it was being renovated. The walk to get there was scenic and interesting even in the heat. The view was worth it.

Nice place to visit even if the main building is in renovation. Just a pity entrance is not free A lot of pictures possible and great views. A lot of people are wearing traditional type of clothes there.

Absolutely. But Kiyomizudera is under renovation now. Unfortunately the whole temple is covered with construction sheet. The view from Kiyomizdera is fantastic. But as of now I would recommend Ginkakuji.
