The rope way was very comfortable and a great way to see the city. Nice touch to include blankets in the gondala. Good access to the start and a lovely gift shop with natural products. Good service and surprisingly not busy.

Kobe and the ropeway are a nice day trip from Osaka. The start of the ropeway is close to the JR train station and the Shinkazen train station. I suggest that you drive up and walk down. From the gondolas you have spectacular views onto...More

It was a nice ride to the top and back where we pass by the dam and the waterfall. It is highly recommended to take this ropeway as the mountain is quite steep and you might spend quite a bit of time climbing up.

Great little side trip. You can go up and back down, or schedule a little more time and visit the herb garden. Can’t go wrong either way!

Questions & Answers
Ask a question
Well only be in Kobe for a day and unfortunately it will be a Sunday and we want to go to the Herb Garden and ride the Ropeway both ways. Earlier we will be going to Kobe Sannomiya Station on the Port Liner from the Diamond Princess. Friends used the City Loop Bus to get there then returned to their ship but after reading several reviews saying how difficult it can be to get a ride on this as it’s often full when it gets to your stop and doesn’t take on more passengers. With limited time my husband is e trembly nervous that this will happen to us. I’ve tried to research getting the Shin Kobe subway train out to the Ropeway but I become extremely confused. Also there are conflicting stories about how far yo need to walk. Walking is some way a challenge for me so a difficult ult walk is not really what I’d like. Can anyone assist please .. if we need to get the train to Shin Kobe and back can anyone outline an easy way to do so. Sorry about the length of this enquiry.
