Description:

Located in Prestbury only 2.5 mile from the centre of Cheltenham the town is also known as “The Gateway to the Cotswold’s”, as having become a major tourist destination from which to discover the many wonderfully quaint Cotswold villages and small towns, which are so loved by the English royalty. The town modernly offers superior shopping in its famous Cheltenham Promenade and nearby indoor malls, where shoppers can find many fashionable boutiques. The Cider House Cottage is a delightful Cotswold stone former cider house, which was once the cider barrel store at Noverton farm. The cottage now lies detached in the grounds of Hall Place House and has been converted for accommodation for guests staying at Hall Place. The cottage has its own separate facilities and can accommodate two people in a double bedroom which has its own en suite shower and toilet, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and downstairs cloak room. The cottage is often used by guests who are going to Cheltenham’s famous race course (located 1 mile from the farm) when they are staying for the Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup week. Many walkers have also stayed at the cottage, when they have used it as a starting point to explore the Cotswold Way, which runs through the farm. Some of the guests at the cottage have come to learn how to ride in both English and Western riding styles or top up on the skills they already have and have even brought their own horses to stay at the stables, for them to ride on holiday. Others have just come to enjoy the escorted riding, which is offered for visitors on their own horses or they can join me on one of my Western trained horses on the many wonderful trail rides that the area offers. The farm’s trails extend through meadows and woodland to the top of Prestbury Hill, as being at this point is a natural formation which is called a chelt. The Chelt is the Cotswold horseshoe escarpment which actually gave Cheltenham its name. This vantage point eventually offers the most wonderful vistas, which look out from Cleeve Cloud over the SevernValley across the slowly winding River Severn, to the blue Malvern Hills and the BlackWelshMountains, far beyond.

Brian is a truly knowledgeable horseman. He is an excellent teacher with the patience of a saint! I am a completely novice rider and Brian took the time to really explain his method of riding and how he came to understand working in a more harmonious way with his horses. It clearly works as the horses clearly trust and adore... More

I booked a trail ride for my husband and I. When we arrived, we were met by the lovely Brian. He explained everything we were about to do as well as his method of horse riding which is Western style. A more holistic approach to horse riding. My husband was a complete beginner and I had some experience and Brian... More

Myself and my two daughters went on a hack with Brian, we all had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The setting was beautiful and offered some stunning views of the surrounding area, you could see for miles! We've been to lots of stables before who offer no explanation of the concepts that you are being taught, however, Brian... More

Just been on a Western trail ride with Brian and had the most wonderful time! Brian is so knowledgeable and the horses so well behaved. The hills surrounding the farm offer stunning views and plenty of opportunities for long canters. Our group consisted of beginners and more experienced riders and Brian and the horses made everyone feel confident and at... More

I search for a place near Gloucester/Cheltenham to experience this lovely area in south western England on horseback. Hall Place Stables offered exactly what this equine tourist was longing for. Brian Sinnett and his wife welcomed me in their home - which dates back to the 11th century when it and the property was a monastery/dairy - and after the... More
