We planned our short-break holiday to include a visit here on the Friday afternoon of our return home and we very please to have done so. The guided tour was excellent and the house has a lovely feel to it, with features dating back to Tudor times but furnished so that it can be lived in today. The gardens are... More

Our visit was all a bit rushed. The house, garden and tea room only open on one day a week and not until 2.00pm. Guided tours are somewhat inflexible to those who want tea before the tour. Listen out for the bell. It could be ten minutes earlier than you expect - possibly whilst you are still eating your tea!!!... More

We visited as a booked group and the House and Gardens were opened especially for us. The house tour was excellent with an enthusiastic and friendly guide. Fascinating layout around a courtyard with statues of four Tudor monarchs. Gardens were looking beautiful and spectacular borders, Our cream tea was delicious and reasonably priced. All highly recommended!

We visited this delightful Tudor Manor House, which is a mile or so outside Ottery St Mary on the last Friday of June. Beautiful avenue of trees leading into the property sets the tone for the whole visit. House opens at 2pm and tours begin at 2.15pm The house exterior is built of local sandstone, with dressings from Beer quarry.... More

We visited Cadhay on a Friday afternoon. The gardens were lovely. However, the highlight of the day was the tour of the house. The guide was excellent and she managed to bring the story of the house and it's owners to life. We had time for a piece of cake and a cup of tea before we left. We will... More

Visited Cadhay House on a wet miserable August Friday afternoon. We received s lovely friendly greeting and we're made to feel welcome during the whole visit. We had a guided tour given by Margaret a very knowledgeable and friendly guide around this delightful House. Despite the weather we managed a walk around the lovely gardens and a lovely tea in... We visit Cadhay every two or three years which speaks for itself. The house is available by guided tour only but this is very informative and well worthwhile, you are free to roam at will around the gardens the striking feature being the double herbaceous borders which are a colourful site, there is also the two medieval stew ponds, an... Cadhay is quite possibly the most perfect place to have a wedding particularly in July when the garden is at its most gorgeous. We had the whole house for the weekend with 11 bedrooms as well as 2 cottages that slept a further 12. For the wedding and reception there were a further 50 people. The house was wonderful with...
