A visit to this restored mill house was fascinating. The costume museum had some wonderful outfits in superb condition and Robert Ferguson's little chat made it even more interesting. The artefacts and settings of the bygone years was most interesting and I could recognise some...More

Visited on a number of occasions and I have always been impressed with the owner/curator's enthusiasm and the eclectic mix of Ayrshire history that he has assembled. It is definitely worth a visit, lovely setting, good little cafeteria and great for a day out.

I visit here semi regularly and have always been very happy with lunch. Ploughman's is very good, soup always tasty and coffee cake delicious.

I took my grandmother here today. Fantastic museum and lovely tea room. Great tea and coffee with brilliant service from Nicole and Martha who were both very helpful.

An astonishing restoration project. The mill, left to rack and ruin, was brought back to life by a couple's dedication. Plenty to see over three floors. Costumes from various eras are interesting (how petite women were in the 1800s!) while the story of farming in...More

We visited on a wet day in January, but as it's mostly indoors, that didn't matter at all. The mill is absolutely stuffed with artefacts rescued from farms, workshops and homes over the last hundred plus years, many of which will familiar to anyone over...More

What an interesting museum with relics you can actually touch, there are cotton gloves to wear if handing delicate items. The Mill has been in the Ferguson family for 7 generations, Mr Ferguson the curator, is a very interesting gent. We had coffee in the...More

Another tasty lunch here-soups,toasties quiche, puddings and cakes all to be highly recommended. The service is friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable given the overall quality. Museum display had changed from last time- visit this interesting local treasure.

If it's The Museum of Ayrshire Country Life and Costume at Dalgarven Mill you want to visit, I think we paid £4.50 per adult, sorry I don't know the price for children. Hope this is of help. We really enjoyed our visit and... More
