The first view of Beehive Mountain in Acadia National Park that my wife and I had was from the eastern end of Sand Beach. It was a spectacular view. We wanted to see more. The Beehive juts out of the terrain at 520 feet, towering...More

Hiked the Bee hive trail. It was an amazing hike however, a bit more challenging, then read, has multiple places with little railings, no places to hold and you have to climb rungs off side of rocks. If afraid of heights not the trail you...More

Wow is the best word to describe this trail. But, it is strenuous. You cannot hike down the trail so be prepared with a map to help you with the other trails back to your car. There are several places where you are literally scaling...More

Not as scary or adrenaline rushing as Precipice, but a shorter version of it. Still a lot of fun and a must do. Go early to avoid the crowds. Don't do if you are afraid of heights or not in good shape.

As long as you are not afraid of heights this trail should be OK for you. Just take breaks when needed as it is quite the elevation gain over a short period of time. Plenty of rungs and bars to assist.

The trail itself is not for the faint-hearted. It was quite exhilarating to clamber up the side of a mountain but if you're not one for heights, be brave and do it anyway! There are trail markers to point you in the right direction and...More

While not a long hike at under a mile one-way the hike up to the top of Beehive is not for the faint of heart. Get there early, before 9am to find a good parking spot and get started. The climb starts as soon as...More

Yes I believe the shuttle to the park...then there are different shuttles within Acadia you'd have to find out which line takes you to sand beach stop
