The Great Head Trail was my favorite hike in Acadia Park. The trail is located on the left side of the sand beach (when looking out to the ocean). The trail is a bit difficult and there are several places you have to climb down...More

We hiked half way with a 6 year old. Beautiful views of Sand Beach. I would say it's a moderate skill level.

Great Head is still a favorite after more than 45 years of annual hiking here. It is easy to hike and the various sea views from the top are beautiful. Even at the height of the summer season it never seems to be too crowded.

We hiked this trail in the morning, and it was not crowded at all. You need to follow the blue paint to stay on the trail (every once in a while it was a little difficult to tell exactly where the trail was, but the...More

We started on the trail and walked a good amount. My Wife was having trouble with her foot so we ended up turning around. What we saw was great sceneries.

We hiked this trail twice while in Acadia - once from the trail head and once from Sand Beach. The start from the trail head hike was a little easier, maybe because that was the second time on the trail. Nonetheless, our 5-year old loved...More

Loved this trail as it is perfect for a family. It's not to long, there are rocks to climb, tidal pools to check out and great views of Sand Beach. The whole family enjoyed it.
