Whether traveling by horse, bike, or on foot, the carriage roads are a marvel of engineering (and totally devoid of cars). Beautiful vistas, incredible biodiversity/geology along the way, and a distinct lack of mosquitoes!

We rented bikes and explored the carriage trails and bridges by wheels. The paths are well maintained with signs indicating the correct direction.

The Carriage Roads are mostly wide and beautifully maintained. There were a lot of bikers when we were there which made the roads less safe for hikers.

We rode our tandem mountain bikes on the carriage trails, around Eagle Lake and Days Mountain and thoroughly enjoyed the views. The trails are well maintained, wide enough to meet other bike traffic and offer scenic views of the bays. There are markers at intersections...More

The top/north part of eagle lake is flat & you could spend an hour walking the eastern side down & back. Bubble pond also flat, so either could work nicely.
