This hike was such a blast! Our family of 8 (10-43 yr olds) went together. You need a permit to go into the fiery furnace, you get them at the visitor center (or online, but currently they've closed this option, they claim it will open...More

This is a very fun hike! Nothing really changeling. We watched a video and got a permit. The ranger led hike is ok for those who aren't really sure or want to go at a slow pace. We wanted to explore and have fun. We...More

Because of all of the road work being done in Arches a section at a time, tickets for Fiery Furnace could not be obtained on-line ahead of time, but rather one had to just show up at the Visitor's Center and hope for the best....More

Fiery Furnace is by my knowledge a viewpoint with a documented sign. Nice views over the surroundings.

We visited here on a ranger led walk after seeing recommendations and I'm so glad we did. It was a very hot day but the walk is mostly in between the fins so was in the shade for the most part. The ranger was great...More

The Fiery Furnace is a popular area in Arches National Park for special hikes within a labyrinth of narrow passageways which weave through towering sandstone fins and walls. Note: special permits or ranger guides are required to explore Fiery Furnace. You can inquire and make...More

While you can hike this unique place with a permit, I decided just to view it from above at sunset and it was a cool place to view the end of the day. The rocks are amazing the way that they formed and almost take...More

Due to road construction this year (2017), you can not make an online reservation. Go to the visitors center as soon as you arrive in the park to hopefully get 1 of 14 spots on a hike. This time of year only 2 hikes a...More

With this hike you either have to have a guided tour or a permit. After buying the permit the day before the hike, we watched an orientation video on the dos and don'ts. The ranger then pretty much scared us. He said people get lost...More

Loved it! Travis Lindsey was our guide and he was fabulous. This was our favorite hike in Arches. I'm afraid of heights but only one spot bothered me a little. There are a few tough spots if you're not sure footed. Our group was in...More

Hello! I'm going to Arches this weekend and found out that it is recommended that I ONLY get a permit for Fiery Furnace if I've done the hike before; the ranger-led program is currently not available, unfortunately. Since I haven't done this hike before, is anyone planning to go this weekend that could tack on 4 adults, PLEASE? We REALLY want to do this hike, or for those who have done the hike, what is your suggestion for doing this hike without a ranger? I read that it's very complex and do not want to get lost, although I am an avid hiker. Thanks!

I apologize if I am too late answering your question. I recommend downloading "Map this hike" app it will keep track of all of your streps and take a back up power source for your phone ( as we did not ) because at the end... More

They have a scheduled Ranger Led hike, you have to sign up months in advance. They leave around 9 or 10 AM maybe on in afternoon, depending on season. Arches NP website has the info. You can do the maze hike by yourself by... More

Hi, We are planning for a Utah trip in 1st week of October. And plan is to Spend 1st half of a day in Arches. 1. What time does the vistor center open on weekdays at Arches ? 2. Do we need tickets and book in prior for delicate arch trail ? 3. Which is the best, taking a tour or driving in our own vehicle inside the park ? 4. Is first half of a day enough ?

Half of a day is not enough time!! If you get lucky and get tickets to the furnace, that alone is half a day. Well worth it!!!! Did it this past summer. We were there 1. 1/2 days and definitely could have spent more time... More
