Very cool to stop and see this rock formation - looks like it could tip over at any moment! Was interesting to see it from different vantage points too - looks completely different depending on which side you are on!

There's a .3 mile trail that goes around the balanced rock. I thought it was amazing how bis the rock actually was. My advice is to visit the other attractions first and this one last. The other parking lots fill up fast and this parking lot was only 1/3 full in the middle of the afternoon.

This is a wonderful place to explore. It's only about 150 feet from the parking lot. There is a trail that you can take to walk around Balanced Rock and see the rock in many different angles. One of the best things is the trail separates and goes right into the rock area and you can climb all around the... More

Balanced Rock is a famous landmark in Arches National Park that you can see along the Arches Scenic Drive, just before the intersection with Window's Road. Here you will see a 128 foot standing single rock structure that resembles a large rock balancing on a thiner pedestal. There is also a short and easy trail that circles the Balanced Rock... More

The balanced rock was highly recommended by one of our guide books. We were glad we stopped. There is a very easy path around the base of the rock with great views of all sides. This is an easy stop for anyone, regardless of ability/skill.

This is an easy trail as the rock formation is close to the road. The first of many great rock formations on this big park. Worth a quick stop.

This is a short and easy 0.3 mile round trip hike, leading you to the base of a fragile, picturesque rock formation. From Balanced Rock, you have nice view of the the Windows Section and La Sal Mountain. Our kids had fun climbing rock (not the Balanced Rock, of course :) ) and making cairn to help marking the trail

A short trail around the Base of the balanced rock. It looks different from all angles and is worth a visit. The views are lovely too.

This is an easy hike around an most unusual rock formation in Arches National Park. It right off the main park road and readily accessible. If the more challenging hikes in the park are are beyond your ability, this is an attractive option to stretch you legs a bit and enjoy what nature has provided.

This is a short easy walk around a rock precariously balanced on top of a pillar . It's an incredible sight and fills you with wonder . The walk will not take long and is best done en route to some of the harder longer walks
