Great little trail but make sure you have appropriate footwear to climb up a ladder and over plenty of rocks. The ladder is not as daunting as it looks. Not difficult but certainly not a straightforward walk and it can get very hot in the...More

This is one of quite a few trails. If I remember correctly, this one was sorta hard to follow as it was not marked very well.

The best trail in the badlands. My kids loved the hike and they are 10 & 12. To see the best views in the badlands take this hike almost to the end and when trail goes right you go left. Go up the rocks a...More

Absolutely loved Notch trail, it's a definite must do when in the badlands. The wooden ladder is a challenge but have to say not as difficult as I thought it would be, bit harder coming down it.... There is a small part of the trail...More

I was intrigued by this hike after seeing photos of the ladder/staircase and wanted to experience it myself. While I didn't find the ladder quite as intense as some seemed to think it was, the hike was still fantastic and led to some great viewpoints....More

This trail was one of our favorites. You are mostly on rock, often at a high elevation. The highlight of this trail is the massive log ladder to climb up the wall. Can be a little daunting if scared of heights but we all felt...More

Once you get up the ladder, the views and hike get much better! View at the end is with it all. Getting back down the ladder isn’t the most fun, but it’s worth it!

This hike requires a bit of effort and is not good for those afraid of heights. There is one long ladder made out of wood and cables. There also a couple areas of the trail that skirt the edge. That being said, this trail is...More

For our group of 4 (1 adult and 3 kids ages 13, 10, and 6) in late July, this was probably the group's absolute favorite (with the other favorites being the Door Trail and the Cliff Shelf Trail). It took us about 1 hour (60...More

This trail is the best of both worlds, it is not too risky but isn't a paved walk either. There are enough nooks and spots to climb to keep my kids excited but a safe trail for my wife to remain on. You don't have...More
