I've been there a few times, and it's always worth seeing. A mini Grand Canyon. It always seems warmer there than the surrounding areas. Winding roads through great scenery make a good drive or bike.

Quite a trail through the Badlands. We were on a coach which was fab cause we could all get a good look. Cars and buses stop everywhere and anywhere when some wildlife appears incl Buffalo and antelope so care should be taken. Like driving through...More

This loop drive has some of the best scenery in the area so don't miss it. Drive slow and watch for animals as they blend in with the colors of the area. You are wowed at each curve in the road.

We drove the loop and took advantage of many of the scenic points as well as several of the easier trails. Consider taking Sage Creek Road to Rim Road, which will lead you into Loop Road. Sage Creek and Rim Road are both dirt roads,...More

I'm from New York and Badlands NP felt like I stepped into another world. The scenery was very interesting and surprising as you drove through parts of the park. My grandson liked climbing on some of the rocky hills. We saw a nice variety of...More

You are in store for a great winding and steep roadway that is well-maintained. The loop road connects at SD 240 and I-90 at Exit 110 in Wall or Exit 131 on the east end by the Northeast Entrance.

A trip through the Badlands is a must if you visit South Dakota. There is truly no place like it on earth. It is kind of like being on how you would imagine an alien planet. Strange hills that are not really hills, and peaks...More

This is one of those little known national parks that is worth driving off of I-90 in South Dakota to visit. The scenery is just spectacular and is well worth the time. There are a lot of turnouts, the people/drivers seem to recognize that people...More

1st stop should be the minuteman missile historic site. Nice drive, close in views of wildlife without even leaving the car. Nice accessible trail to beautiful views. Easy walk for those less fit. Surprised to see little prickly pear cactus here and there in the...More

If all you do is drive the Loop Road, and stop for photos at the various viewing points, 4 hours is plenty of time.

The loop is in the park. There is an admission fee, if you have a permit you covered.
