Was expecting a much grander visitors center. Ranger was nice and helped us purchase national park pass. Have 4 little kids so I never like to spend much time in the book/gift shop. A small museum and bathrooms but much smaller than I expected.

Friendly and welcoming staff. There is a little museum of sorts inside that teaches you about the park.

Friendly staff here with some information, a video, and gift shop. Get your park map here and peek at the exhibits to learn about the formation of these beautiful rocks.

We drove into the Badlands full of excitement, but the stop at the Visitor Center almost quelled our enthusiasm. We stopped in to ask a few questions, but before we could get them out, a woman behind the counter asked if we had purchased the $20 permit. Well, no. We just walked in. She asked if we had stopped anywhere... More

A park ranger answered all our questions and more. Explained the formation of the badlands and how far they actually extended into Nebraska, Colorado and more. Stop in if you have any questions.

Most of the NPS visitor centers are very good and this is no exception. Great exhibits, friendly and helpful staff, very nice (but crowded) gift shop. We loved looking at the exhibits and also the fossil lab in back - my kids loved watching them work on uncovering and cleaning up the fossils. Great place.

Drove through the Badlands recently. Views and rock formations were amazing, especially with the relatively flat country surrounding it. The visitors center is a good place to stop, use the clean restrooms, and get information. They have a nice gift shop too.

I went on a bus tour and this was a wonderful trip! The center was very informative and had lots of goodies to buy of course! Please if you go to The Badlands stop in. A very nice park service.

From the entrace to this location is 25 miles or so with winding roads and awesome landscapes all around. At this stop you can take a break, and it truly is a visitor center with a lot of historical information. Of course what is a visitor center without souvenirs.
