There was information about settling this area of the country here. It was a little respite for us since no one else was stopping but just whizzing by.

The colors and textures of this special view were intense late in the day. I'm glad we waited till 7pm to make this trip. It was peaceful with only one other family enjoying the view. We still had plenty time for a relaxing dinner afterward!

This overlook provided some good views, and the educational signs were very informative about the difficult time that the first settlers faced. All of the overlooks along Loop Road are worth a stop, including this one.

Stopped in while driving the Loop. Few others stop here for whatever reason but I found it to be a calm, quiet respite off the Loop. Yet another opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Badlands and enjoy its history.

This overlook is about 1/2 way through the loop road. The rock formations are beyond incredible. Walk out the walkways for a better view.
