Today we took the Rainbow Point tour provided by the National Park Service. We discovered it by chance since it is not well promoted but it is awesome. The driver comments on history, geography, and plant and animal life and is full of enthusiasm for the location. You are taken to Rainbow Point and then visit every other view point... More

Rainbow Point is one of two viewpoints, along with Yovimpa Point, that make up the southern end of the the popular Scenic Drive (Highway 63) in the Bryce Canyon National Park. It is located 17 miles south of the Visitor Centre. Note: For those taking the scenic drive, it is recommended go straight through to Rainbow Point and to start... More

Drove all the way to the end of the road and got to Rainbow point. The views were amazing. We came while it was snowing and that made the pictures even better. The trails weren't easy to walk on due to the snow but it was a great experience.

The park road ends in the Rainbow Parking lot. The ranger made a point to let us know that Yovimpa Point is also accessible from this lot. I guess a lot of people overlook it so he is on a mission to move the sign so that more people will check it out. Rainbow Point viewing area is a quick... More

This is a nice overlook, not quite as popular as Sunrise / Sunset or Bryce Points but it still gives you the grandeur of the park.

Best way to see Rainbow Point and to learn about the area. The shuttle is free and takes you to places the normal shuttle does not. We had an excellent tour guide (sorry, I forgot his name) who is extremely knowledgeable about the indigenous plants, trees and flowers. He took the time to point out the flore and faune. We... A must see. Views over 100 miles. Worth driving to this and walking the trails around the point. You might catch a ranger talk so check at the Visitor Centre as this is interesting about the geology.

The 15 mile drive down here from Bryce Point is well worth it. And you can hike the Bristlecone Loop from here for even more views of the park. Once you are done here, stop at the many viewpoints on you way back towards Bryce Point.

Definitely make time to drive out to Rainbow Point while you are at Bryce. The drive out is filled with great stops with stunning views around every corner. The colors of the canyon, trees and sky are simply amazing.
