Talk about losing elevation.

This road is really in great shape when we traveled up it. My buddy left his truck her for our exit after our paddling trip from Ruby Ridge.

What a drive! You don't really need four wheel drive to get down to the bottom of the canyon, but it is strongly suggested! Make sure your breaks work before you start down and take it easy! This was a fun drive, however, when dropping down into the Green River canyon, it is narrow, requires a high clearance vehicle and has some switchbacks that you may hold your breath through. Four-wheel drive is not necessary in dry weather. During our exploration towards the end of March, we had no problems. Our drive along the river was great... More

Until I did the Shafer trail. Then this looks pretty easy. The views down are great. But take it easy.
