I took the Hall of the White Giant cave excursion at Carlsbad. Wow ! Was this the most amazing tour . If you are a thrill seeker I highly recommend . A few things you should know. You have to book online in advance. They only do these tours 1 time weekly . Only 12 to a group . Wear... More

Ranger Mark and Casey (sp?) were great. They will lock up your wallet and keys in a room while you go on the tour. You need 3 batteries per person. They provide the helmet with light, gloves and knee pads. Wear something long sleeved and jeans or something else that is tough and you don't mind getting dirty and partly... More

These are amazing formations that have taken many years to form....if you use your flashlight on your phone you can see what the formation looks like in the light....

Everything in the cave is pretty neat, but this was my wife's favorite part of the Big Room. Great formations, and to know how long it took to form it is impressive.

This is a tough and intense tour. It really does live up to it's "very strenuous" rating. I consider myself pretty claustrophobic, and I almost chickened out in the first 60 seconds, but I am glad I stuck to it. What an amazing experience. I am 6'1", 260, and have a 40" waist. I barely, and I really mean JUST... More

3/4 of a mile in and back out the same route. Much of that (maybe 200 yards) is on your belly -- not on your hands and knees. Be in shape and don't be claustrophobic. Only 8 people per week are "privileged" to go on this tour (with two guides).

You need to be fit, if you are not fit but you are bold enough afford the possibility of breaking a bone, go ahead, you don't have to be skinny but it helps, otherwise you have to be squeezable, no knee problems, no claustrophobics or people afraid of darkness or heights. I felt a little guilty to walk, well crawl... More

Full Disclosure: I have been to caves before but I am not a spelunker/caver. I don't know how to climb a rope and I am not that physically fit. I am a couch potato on most days. With that being said, I was able to do this. I must say, I signed up for this tour but I had anxiety... More

This is probably one of the most intense guided cave tours available, so be prepared for it. That being said, my 60 year old mother made it through just fine.
