This road is one-way so you don't have to worry about on-coming traffic. It's also super clean and well maintained. Worth a visit just for the pleasure of sweeping through the turns.

The drive is paved, so it's an easy do for all. Watch the dips, though, and some quick s-type turns. Hiker can park anywhere off the roadway and explore more fully. There is one developed parking area where you can walk up an outcrop to...More

I think what amazed me the most besides the incredible formations and colors was the fact that we were able to enjoy this because of all the manpower that went in to the building of these access roads!

Death Valley is huge and you will never see all of it in a day or a month. The scenery is amazing, the quiet is calming and the sky is ever so blue. Artist's Drive on Badwater Road is a drive you don't want to...More

beautiful drive with steep dips. I did notice none of the men obeyed the speed limit but i think they just like the turns, lol it was fun seeing my husband love the drive.

We made several stops while in Death Valley National Park - all beautiful - but this one was well worth the drive. It is a one way 5 mile drive off a main road. There are several opportunities for overviews and photo opportunities. It was...More

We have just done a road trip from Nevada across California in a mustang. This road is remarkable. You will probably never drive a road like this again think a sandy dusty Monte Carlo F1 route. Truly truly remarkable.

Words won't do this 1/2 hour drive justice. Amazing views, narrow canyons, crazy deep dips (fun) in the road, made for a true highlight of our visit.

You can easily drive this one cause it's a proper road and doesn't take much time. Make sure to be there with sunlight (best midday or afternoon) so that the rocks' different colours shine bright!

For me, it was pretty much the highlight of the death valley national park. I waited in order not to have any cars in front and I enjoyed the drive and the scenary!

I'm not sure why this one-way road will be closing, it looked to be in great condition when I was there. I would say the bicycles would be ok but that really depends on what they are doing to the road going through Artist's... More
