Enjoy a warm welcome and experience a true Alaskan lifestyle at Husky...

Enjoy a warm welcome and experience a true Alaskan lifestyle at Husky Homestead, home of Iditarod Champion Jeff King. This tour is widely heralded as an authentic look into rural lifestyles based on 35 years of Alaskan adventures: from freight hauling on Denali to crossing the finish line in Nome with a champion Iditarod team. Be greeted by cuddly puppies and share an intimate view of the Alaskan Husky as they explode from the kennel on a training run. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating a championship team and carving a life in Alaska's Interior. Hear compelling stories from the trail and see actual racing sleds, arctic survival gear and equipment used to traverse 1100 miles of Alaska's most rugged terrain. Our 2016 tour season begins May 13th and ends on September 21st. We look forward to meeting you!

Jeff King has a pretty good tourist operation going here. It was great to hear the stories and see the property and operation first hand. We really enjoyed helping to socialize the puppies. They have so much energy. The staff were great, thrusting puppies on you and offering to take pictures, using your own camera. I recommend it.

We visited Jeff Kings lost in Homestead and really enjoyed our time! His puppies were so well taken care of and so happy it was a delight to be able to hold them. Boy to his dogs like to run, it was very fun to see them get so excited to run an ATV around. We visited in the summer... More

The Jeff King Husky Homestead was very interesting. You get to hold the puppies. Jordan explained everything in detail about how they work with the dogs to train them, their care, etc. She was awesome. After getting to watch them run the dogs on a giant treadmill they took us inside where another person explained how the sled works. Jeff... More

Jeff King and his staff were very professional and friendly. The tour and presentation was educational and uplifting. Learning about the dogs and how they are prepared for the race was interesting. You will definitely have a smile on your face while you snuggle with the puppies. Listening to stories about the Iditarod race from someone who actually participated was... More

Jeff King's Husky Homestead was such a pleasure to visit! The tour and presentation that they give is like a well-oiled machine in terms of organization and professionalism. Not a moment of your time is wasted - in fact, we hated to leave. You learn so much about what goes into raising these incredible dogs and then racing them. It... More

I enjoyed learning about the dogs and seeing them interact with the staff. It was nice to hold a puppy but way to many people wanting to hold a dog for the amount of puppies there were. Seemed a little chaotic. Enjoyed hearing Jeff King and another staff member who has done the Iditarod talk about the experience.

The bus driver was the best, getting us familiar with what we were going to see and how the kennel works. Puppies are always good, they give you one once you get off the bus. Watching them hook the dogs us and the training runs, then you go in and meet Jeff King, a true Iditarod Champion! Great information, intertaining,... More

Jeff King's husky homestead was a fantastic experience. The presentations were informative & enjoyable but the highlight of the visit was to have a cuddle with the Husky puppies
