This is a moderate trial to hike, with eye popping views everywhere. Well marked and fairly busy, it's an easy trail. We did encounter Grizzly's a sow with 2 cubs, so don't go without bear spray and enough knowledge to use it. We weren't in...More

This is one of the many trails at Glacier NP. It offers great vistas of lakes and forested areas. You'll have a chance to see wildlife including mountain goats. It is a medium type of trail, not too hard for two 69 year old.

The scenery along this trail is beautiful. The trail takes you up to where big horn sheep and mountain goats feed. You are likely to see moose and grizzly bears. Don't forget your bear spray.

I'm unsure as to how literally to take the question... the short answer would be yes, since the round-trip distance from the trailhead to the edge of Iceberg Lake and back is 9.7 miles.

Dogs can provoke defensive behaviors in bears. Bears are extremely frequent in this region. I wouldn't take a dog, allowed or not.

Route usually difficult to access until end of June, and lake still fully covered at that time. Might still be snow crossing at that time also. Mid-July, starts to break up
